On the peak of spring blooming, let’s make a trip to the former out-of-town royal residence – Kolomenskoe. Wrapped in lilac bushes and apple gardens, gems of architecture stand here.
We will see:
gates and walls of the old royal residence;
UNESCO listed Church of Ascension on a high slope of the river;
A water-pumping tower of the 16th century;
John the Baptist church in Dyakovo – perhaps, built by the same architects as St Basil’s.
A memorial log house brought here from the banks of the White sea.
As well as:
A deep ravine with mysterious history;
broad views from the high bank of the river;
apple gardens which attract visitors for a photo session.
